Parents in west Edmonton often have the nagging question: “What will I do with my kids this summer?”

Kids On Track knows that summer can be a challenging time for keeping kids and youth busy on a budget. That’s why we have the Kids On Track Summer Program, saving kids from boredom and parents from bored kids.

Kids On Track offices are located in the heart of the Jasper Place Revitalization Area, serving all west Edmonton communities with low-cost or free summer programming. Kids Summer Day camps, for Grades 1-6, rotate through different west Edmonton communities each week, pairing fun, engaging character education in the morning with an exciting field trip each afternoon. Children will participate in group activities every morning that focus on themes that teach skills needed to build resiliency. Active group initiatives encourage cooperation and team work. Trips to the Edmonton Valley Zoo, John Janzen Nature Center, and Telus World of Science engage kids’ imaginations, while weekly bike rides in the River Valley and visits to swimming pools and splash parks make getting active fun.

That’s not all! The summer wraps up with a week at a local ranch camp, complete with horse back riding, archery, outdoor adventures, and all the makings of life-long memories and friendships. How good is that?

Kids On Track takes it up a notch with our youth summer program. Teens are kept busy and engaged with full-day activities four days a week, concluding with a week-long camping adventure in Jasper which gets youth off the couch, off their phones, and active, while making amazing friends. High school girls reach new heights backpacking in the Hike Like a Girl adventure! Engaging youth mentors know how to really connect with youth, creating a space where they want to come and bring a friend.

Kids On Track is not just there for families in the summer. They offer year-round programs to create community for kids, youth, and parents. You can check out their programs at www.kidsontrack.org or give them a call at 780-481-2942.
